Care Guide

General Care

SARAH & SEBASTIAN jewllery is fine in nature and therefore requires particular care to maintain its condition.

In addition to our six-month warranty, we also offer a Repair & Restoriation service should your pieces require a specialist's skills.

We recommend taking your SARAH & SEBASTIAN pieces to your local trusted jeweller for a regular professional clean and restore. Alternatively, customers are welcome to visit our Alexandria Showroom or Paddington Store for a complimentary service.

Gold Jewellery

Store gold jewellery in a dry, cool place away from excess moisture such as your original packaging or a specially-designed jewellery box/case featuring a soft inner surface.

Gold jewellery is relatively low maintenance however does require cleaning every other month to restore its lustre. Avoid direct contact with creams, lotions or perfumes as these substances can accelerate the tarnishing process. Please note that particularly acidic skin can also cause premature tarnishing.

To clean gold jewellery, we recommend dipping your pieces in a Gold Clean Bath or polishing with a high-quality cloth.

Silver Jewellery

Silver jewellery requires more frequent and careful attention than other metals to address its natural tarnishing process.

Store silver jewellery in a dry, cool place away from excess moisture such as your original packaging or a specially-designed jewellery box/case featuring a soft inner surface.

Silver jewellery should be cleaned every other week to remove any discolouration and restore its original lustre. Avoid direct contact with creams, lotions or perfumes as these substances can accelerate the tarnishing process. Please note that particularly acidic skin can also cause premature tarnishing.

To clean silver jewellery, we recommend dipping your pieces in a Silver Clean Bath or polishing with a high-quality cloth.

Diamonds and Precious Stones

Jewellery featuring set diamonds or precious stones should be cleaned every month or so to rid of any fine dirt particles. When this dirt isn’t removed it can push the stone against its metal setting, causing the metal to wear away and result in lot stones.

Chain

SARAH & SEBASTIAN exclusively use a fine chain throughout most of their designs. While this quality chain is very strong, it is fine in nature and requires extra care.

Maintain your chain’s condition by avoiding pulling, catching or stretching the links. As a precaution, it is recommended to remove your jewellery before showering, sleeping, exercising and swimming.

Chain products should be stored in their original packaging or carefully hung to avoid tangling.
