Siren

Siren

ghost nets | noun. pl.

Ghost nets are fishing nets that have been discarded or abandoned in the ocean through commercial fishing activities. These nets, often nearly invisible in the dim light, are responsible for trapping and killing millions of marine animals, entangling live coral and smothering reefs.

SIREN is both a celebration of the ocean’s beauty and signal alerting to the devastation being caused to reefs and marine life by abandoned fishing debris (known as ghost nets).

The collection explores the themes of entanglement and floatation with pieces cast from genuine ghost nets and fishing debris salvaged from the Pacific Ocean. SIREN is a body of design personal to our Creative Director Sarah Gittoes not only reflecting a cause close to her heart but featuring cast shells and shark teeth she’s found whilst diving.
